Pendants
A pendant sits closer to you than anything else you wear, which is a decent reason to be particular about the stone. Natural gemstones in sterling silver and gold, from single stones on fine chains to the Emerge pieces set with real butterfly wings. Short, long, layered, or worn alone.
FAQs
Most of ours are sold on their own, and you can add a chain on the product page at half price — that discount applies only when the chain and pendant are bought together, not to a chain bought separately. A few pieces, like the Coffin necklaces, arrive on a chain already; the product page tells you which.
It depends where you want it to sit. 16 inches sits at the base of the throat, 18 inches just below the collarbone, and 20 inches on the chest. Our silver box chains adjust between 16 and 18 inches so you can move between the first two. The gold chains come in 18 and 20 inch, in box or snake.
A pendant is the piece that hangs; a necklace is the pendant and the chain together. We name ours that way, so anything called a necklace arrives ready to wear and anything called a pendant needs a chain — yours or one of ours.
Leave at least two inches between lengths so they sit apart instead of tangling — a 16 and a 20 is an easy pair, and a 16, 18 and 20 works for three. Put the piece you want noticed on the shortest chain, since that's the one at eye level. Mixing metals is fine; there's no rule that says silver and gold can't share a neckline.
Both work, differently. Sterling is harder and takes knocks better, but it tarnishes eventually — ours is blended to slow that down. Gold doesn't tarnish, and our Everyday Gold is 18K bonded over sterling with a ceramic coating so the gold holds up rather than wearing thin. If you never take it off, gold is the easier one to live with. If you want the piece to feel substantial, sterling.
Yes, these are natural gemstones. The Emerge pieces are the exception — each one holds a real butterfly or moth wing rather than a stone.
A soft dry cloth after wearing is most of it, and it prevents more than it fixes. Keep it away from perfume, lotion, chlorine and household cleaners, and store it dry and out of direct light — silver tarnishes faster in a humid bathroom than in a drawer. Emerge and Everyday Gold need their own handling; full details are on our care page.
