Two kinds of earring. Gemstone pairs in sterling silver and 18K Everyday Gold, and the Emerge drops — each one holding a real butterfly wing, preserved and set in fine silver on a simple silver hook.
The wing pairs are never quite identical, because no two wings carry the same pattern. The gemstone pairs vary too — natural stones always do. Close enough to read as a pair either way.
FAQs
Yes. Everything we make is nickel-free, and nickel is what most people react to. Our sterling blend also runs low on copper, the other common irritant, and the fine silver pieces contain almost none at all.
Not ours. Green marks come from copper reacting with skin, and there's very little copper in our sterling blend — none to speak of in the fine silver pieces. Nickel-free also means no reaction from the metal most people are sensitive to.
We wouldn't. Hooks bend, backs come loose, and a stone or a wing pressed against a pillow all night takes more wear than a full day of being worn. Take them out and they'll last considerably longer.
A soft dry cloth after wearing is most of it. Keep them away from perfume, hairspray, lotion and household cleaners — hairspray is the one people forget, and it builds up around the hook. Store them dry in a box or pouch rather than a bathroom shelf.
